Important Dates / Testing
Hello Parents!
We have only 4 more days until Spring Break, and then things get really hairy! There are no more late start Monday mornings from here on through the end of the year - on all remaining Mondays, school starts as usual at 7:45, with doors opening at 7:35! Here are some upcoming dates that would be important to mark on your calendar:
Testing season is almost upon us! Here is some information that will be coming home in Wednesday folders soon:
Students are scheduled to take the CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success - formerly known as PARCC) exams in English Language Arts (ELA - reading & writing), Social Studies, as well as in Math. These tests are as follows: 3 65-minute math tests, 3 90-minute ELA tests, and 3 80-minute SS tests. Here is our schedule:
We will not be having any homework or checking planners for the three weeks of testing, April 9th-April 27th.
If you have the opportunity, I recommend that you explore the available practice tests online by visiting this website:

Dress Warmly!
Welcome back, Butler families! School is back in full swing and our students are deeply entrenched in learning. We are working on writing non-fiction chapter books about the life on the frontier which we will publish using Google Slides, and students are learning about adding and subtracting mixed numbers. Division is coming up quickly, so keep an eye out!
The weather in the past few weeks has been all over the range from freezing to nearly warm! As the weather has been so crazy lately, we are asking that you PLEASE make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately. Many students have arrived this week with no jackets, inappropriate shoes, even some students wearing SHORTS! We know that Colorado weather can be unpredictable, but it has been consistently chilly lately, and we would really like to see all students wearing warm jackets. While there is snow on the ground students like to fall in the snow and roll around. If they are not dressed appropriately, we are hesitant to allow them outside for recess. If your family needs assistance in providing appropriate cold-weather clothing, please contact the school and we will do what we can to help support your family's needs.

Thanksgiving Vacation Approaches...
Well Families, we are only one week away from Thanksgiving vacation! Students have no school between Monday, November 20th and Friday, November 24th! Then after we come back there are only four weeks until Winter Break, the time is flying!! Between now and Winter Break our students need to take their mid-year iReady diagnostic reading tests, as well as students being in the process of taking their first benchmark tests to measure their progress in reading, writing, and math. Please consider how difficult it is to catch a student up on instruction that they miss, and make sure that your student is present and prepared for school each day.
